Vector Graphics

  • Graphics are images or design on some surface like paper, wall and screen to inform or to  entertain.
  • Above graphics is aliasing because it is a pixel graphic.
  • We are using vector graphic for anti-aliasing.
  • In vector graphics we use polygons to represent images in a computer graphics.
  • Vector graphics are based on vectors, which lead through locations called control points or nodes.
  • Each of this point has a definite position on the x and y axis of the work plane and determines the direction of the path, further each path may be assigned various attributes, including such values as stroke, color, shape, curve, thickness and fill.
  • Vectors images does not depend on the resolution because it is not based on pixels. It is based on vectors. Hence there is no aliasing in vector graphics.
Uses:
  • Graphics for designing to represent the proect in architectures.
  • Drawing images and animations for games.
History:
  • Vector graphics are first used in US air defence system in 1999.
