Inkjet printer is a type of printer that produce the image by propelling the droplets of ink on paper. In that the image is produced by the direct scanning of a laser beam across the printer's photo-receptor.
Inkjet printer can print color pages. Budjet laser printer can print black and white pages.
Inkjet printer cost is less. Laser printer cost is more than inkjet printer.
Size of printer is small compared to laser printer. Size of printer is large.
Print speed is slow about 6 pages per minute with black text. Laser printer can print 20 pages per minute.
Print quality of inkjet is equal to laser but small font is less quality. Print quality is suprior to inkjet in printing small fonts also.

Inkjet printers:

  • Inkjet printers are three types.
  • Document printer, photo printer and all-in-one (copier/scanner/printer).
Advantages:
  • Smaller in size and fit in small spaces. All in one inkjet printer is a bit larger.
  • The over cost of inkjet printer is less compared to laser printer.
  • Ink cartridges of inkjet printer are cheap.
  • Easy to replace cartridges.
  • Excellent photo quality.
Disadvantages:
  • Low efficient ink usage which increases printing cost per page.
  • Slow printing of large documents.
  • Low inbuilt memory.
  • Cleaning of inkjet printer is a difficult task. Because inkjet cartridges may leak and make stains.

Laser printer:

  • Laser printers are only two types.
  • Document printer and all-in-one( copier/scanner/printer).

Advantages:
  • More efficient use of toner which decreases cost per page.
  • Last printers can print documents quite speed like large documents compared to inkjet printers.
  • Cleaning is very easy because it does not leak and do not form stains.
  • Excellent print quality.
Disadvantages:
  • High cartridge cost but last longer than inkjet cartridge.
  • Large in size which does fit in small spaces.
  • Laser printer is noise which creates disturbance.
  • High cost for colour compared to inkjet printer.
