CMYK

  • CMYK are four colors cyan, magenta, yellow and key (black).
  • CMYK is a color model used in the printing process.
  • It works by partially or entirely masking  colors on a lighter background usually white.
  • The ink reduces the light otherwise be reflected. This ink "subtract" brightness from white.
  • Here black is called as key because it is the key color for the other colors to align while printing.
Half toning:
  • Adding half colored dots to another half colored dots gives a solid color representation.
Screen Angle:
  • Different angles of the colored dots with other colors gives the patterns.
Conversion:
  • Conversion process from RGB to CMYK is done because because the image we get on output monitor is to be printed on the paper.
  • In CMYK we get shadows were not in RGB. There is a conversion formula.
  • CMYK is used for printing process.
